I have three days off now, and I took a small bus adventure today!

Lai's computer crapped out once again (second time in a month!), so we had to send it in to get looked at. Lack of computer spurred us to locate and head towards the nearest game rental place, which was in the opposite direction of our usual bus routes. Because of that, I finally discovered a local wooded area to explore! It looks like a nice park with trails that would be great to bike through, and surrounding the park is an amazing-looking, path-less gorge FULL of conifers and ferns and probably tons of slimy sleepy beasties. AND IT'S SUPER CLOSE, LIKE 10 MINUTES ON BUS. YESSSS. I need to get some wellies.

Lai rented Assassin's Creed II, and I got a new Moleskine sketchbook. I'm planning on using it as an art journal to keep in the coming year, to jot down ideas and sketch things daily. I tried to do something similar in 2008, but I put too much emphasis into trying to just draw a full thing every single day, which I couldn't do. B| Instead, this'll be something more like that, plus twitter, plus collage work. Ideas, found items, scribbles, journal entries. Should be MUCH more entertaining.

Hope you're all having an okay holiday! I'm having a nice time just knitting and making things and enjoying the cold season. c:

HEY DUDES. Everything has been pretty awesome and good lately.

I went down to Portland for Halloween, which was amazing and fantastic. I took the train, which was really neat - definitely need to do that again. It even goes all the way down to California, so HEY GUYS? CHEAPER THAN A PLANE? LOL? Anyway, Halloween was spent with Spork, Holly, Tony, Milku, and Spork's two friends David and Elizabeth (both of which are cool cats and I wish they used the internet DAMNIT.) We paraded around Portland, jumping buses and street-trains, and I got a bacon-maple bar at Voodoo Donuts. BACON on a DONUT, wtf, tastiest and probably worst-for-me thing I have ever eaten. 8| and when it got dark, we ran around downtown all dressed up while Spork, as a Left 4 Dead Hunter, ran around scaring the living shit out of people with her awesome zombie cry. RAIIIIII! My Daft Punk costume came out pretty gorgeous, but not very practical (at all) for running around in a city in the dark - so I got to borrow a blue wig and Lego Mars Explorer vest from Spork, and I was a SPACE CADET instead. That was much more fun. c:

Holly made us tons and tons of food - pumpkin muffins, pumpkin curry, and pumpkin pancakes the following day, and she is the cutest and sweetest thing ever. <3 <3 Day after Halloween, we got chocolate tasties from Godiva, and then I got my septum re-pierced! It was a sad story that I hadn't talked about here, but after I got it first done, I had to take it out pretty much immediately - it was done crooked, and the jewelry I was given wasn't appropriate for healing, since it wouldn't even fit inside my nose while flipped up (and I NEEDED it hidden while at work). SO, I had it done down there in Portland at an absolutely wonderful shop, with the right retainer to heal it with. It actually came out a teensy bit crooked again, even though the piercer (George) who did it definitely knew what he was doing this time. It was also leaning the exact same way it was the first time, so OOPS, it turns out that's actually just my nose's anatomy causing that. B| Balls. BUT on the bright side, George gave the me the piercing AND the retainer for free, since he won't settle for anything less than perfect... AND he gave me a $35 gift card for the store, on top of that. Omg. <3

Then eventually I had to come home~ It was a super awesome mini-vacation overall, I loved it like woa. <3

A FISH. Greetings to KING PERCIVAL, Lord of the Not-Very-Large Tank of Windowsill.

Also just known as Percy. I'm a dork and just named him after Perciformes. He's a silly little bugger, though. He's already quite friendly, and can recognize that human = food, and likes to inspect my hand when it's near the tank. Apparently he's terrified of the camera, though, since he ran away to hide in his plant as soon as I brought it out. Aw.

Hello, internet! My birthday was pretty cool, and I've been having a good time lately. C:

Lai took me to the Seattle Aquarium yesterday, which was really nice. They had a good many fish, a beautiful Giant Pacific octopus, several sea otters and fur seals, seahorses, clown fish, etc etc. There was also a nice big room with simulated tide pools full of sea cucumbers, sea stars, and anemones, which you could pet, which I hadn't done since I was like, 12. That was fun, my arm went numb from the icy water. :'D

AND LAI GOT ME PUFFIN BOXERS IN THE GIFT SHOP. PRETTY ~AWESOME~. Although I probably won't be able to wear them until it gets warmer, but they were too amazing to pass up.

After that we went to see ZOMBIELAND, which was definitely the best zombie movie I've seen since Shaun of the Dead, and just a great movie overall. I was pretty much giggling throughout the entirety of it. SO MUCH FUN.

Then we got late-night cupcakes. :D Not a drop of alcohol to be had. Yay Ily-style 21.

SO, here are some photos and things of other recent going-ons:

HURRAH I finally have health coverage. It's still dumb and not entirely cost-effective for things I MIGHT NOT EVEN NEED (IE doctor visits, injuries, etc), but I DO need new glasses, and I think I have bad teefs. At least I can get those taken care of now. :C

Here's to hoping that I'm not riddled with cavities, and that my teeth just feel sensitive when in direct contact with sugar. ;;
